I like this recipe because it is quick, easy, and delicious. When I take this dish to potluck dinners or to family gatherings, it receives many compliments and I always return home with an empty bowl.
- 1 lb. ground beef, browned and drained
- 2 (16 oz.) cans pork and beans
- 1 (15 oz.) can Lima beans
- 1/4 - 1/2 cup brown sugar, depending on personal taste
- 1/3 cup ketchup
- 1 large onion, finely chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 3/4 cup water
Put all ingredients in slow cooker. Mix well. Cook on low for approximately 4 hours, until mixture is thoroughly heated and onion pieces are tender.
Optional: Add crispy, crumbled bacon pieces to the mixture or sprinkle on top of bowls when serving.
Servings: 6 to 8

I have never tried that particular recipe, but I am sure that you can use any beans that you like. I have a recipe that calls for 3 cans of pork and beans, but I sub just about any that I have on hand, or whatever is on sale.
You can't go wrong with baked beans! It is really the seasonings and sauce that makes it great!
