The answer depends on your model and manufacturer. If you don't have a user guide you can usually download one free from the maker's website.

Or using the model and manufacturer name plus the words 'how to thread' in a search engine term should bring up several pages of results linking to user or maker posted threading diagrams you can save to your computer then print out.
