Tiny Bugs That Bite?

There are tiny bugs in my home. Against something dark they look white and against something white they look black or brown. They have been biting. I have no idea what they are, do you? Do you know how I can get rid of them? They seem to react to the cold temps.

Lice? Termites? Sorry if I'm wrong, just trying to make a slim suggestion.

I'm thinking they might be fleas. Fleas do bite, and they do look brown on a white background. They don't, however, look white against a dark background. That's the only part that tells me that it might not be fleas.

Fleas do bite. If you get one between your fingers, try to smush one. If you can smush it between your fingers, it's probably not a flea. If you have to squish it with your fingernails to get it to "smush" then it sounds like a flea because they do have a semi-hard sort of shell, even though they're very little.
