A family tradition at Christmas.
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 lb real butter
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 cup sliced almonds, toasted
- 1/4 cup chocolate chips
- Place water, butter, and sugar into saucepan. Boil for approximately 12 minutes until it reaches the hard crack candy stage. It will turn an amber color. Stir and pour into pan.
- Add sliced, toasted almonds to candy mixture. Sprinkle chocolate chips on top and let melt. Spread melted chips over candy mixture. Chill and cut into pieces.
