I like to save things to re-use and I painted a canvas and glued on things I had around the house to make a very decorative painting. If you don't have a canvas, you can use stiff cardboard or any hard surface.
Everything on the canvas is from an object that would have gone in the trash. The best part is that I used my imagination and had a wonderful time doing this and it was satisfying to make something pretty and useful.
