Before trying this you'll need to make a solution to clean your home and yard. You will need one gallon of vinegar, 1/2 gallon of water, 16 ounces of lime juice, and 8 ounces of witch hazel. Mix the solution and put this in a spray bottle. Now use this to clean your home first. Before bathing the dog with witch hazel it is recommended to test a small amount on the dog's skin to make sure he is not allergic to this. There is a lot of dogs allergic to this. You can always use Dawn dishwashing soap to clean the dog and get rid of fleas. Then use the solution I gave you to spray your home and yard to get rid of them in your area.

The best thing you can do is get professional flea killer from your vet. Not in the store. It is applied to the skin and lasts three months. Bathe and dry your dog before you use it. It works.

Witch Hazel may be to strong to use on your dog as a flea fighter. They have so many other things and brands that are made to fight fleas. Using this could add to your problems.

No. Witch hazel can be toxic to dogs. Talk to your vet or local shelter for the best method to take care of fleas. This is medical advice, so to speak, so follow your vet's guidance. My vet's solutions may not work for you. Ask if your vet approves the use of human over the counter anti itch meds and the correct dosing.

You will need to get something recommended for the bites/itch, to kill the eggs, things that have to be done in the home to kill them off and the eggs, and you will need to kill them off in the yard. If you don't take care of it from all avenues, the problem will persist.

Prayers for solutions.

Many dogs are allergic to Witch Hazel. You may end up with more trouble than your started with. Fleas can be very hard to get rid of. Start with a good product from your Vet. You will save money in the long run.

not witch hazel but yes apple cider vinegar. ACV is also good for when they have 'hot spots' which are at times a function of flea infestation
