I am wondering what a complete set of Standard America Encyclopedias copyright 1937, copyright The University Society MCMXVI is worth?
The set was printed and bounded in the United States of America by
The Cuneo Press, Inc.
Many people have old books they think are valuable and would like to sell. Most old dictionaries, references etc., have very little value, a few dollars at most. Encyclopedias dated after 1923 are essentially worthless but crafters may be interested for the old pictures. Goodwill, Salvation Army, etc., receive donations of tons of old encyclopedias, dictionaries and reference books but send them to recycling centers or dumps as they cannot use or sell them.
I would like to know the value of my 11 books. The copyright is 1916.
Considering the books are just over 100 years old it might be best to talk with an antique book seller to make sure the actual date of the books and the true value of the books. The condition of the books and the covers will determine the real value of your books. There are collectors out there that buy old books like this. Without seeing the books it is hard to tell you how much they are actually worth. I would seek some advise from a bookseller in your area. They might even know a person who is looking for this set of books.
