Value of a Sylvania Stereo Turntable and Speakers?

Everything works and the speakers sound great. Is there a value on the stereo turntable (GTE Sylvania model CST 6731) and 2 (Sylvania air suspension) speakers?

There is a huge market for many of the vintage Sylvania pieces, especially if they all work and are in as good a condition as you state they are in.

A pair of GTE Sylvania AS125A speakers just sold on eBay for $730 and a pair of AS225A sold on another site I frequent for $339 (these are sold prices not asking).

Hopefully your speakers will sell in this range. The speakers in working order are a rarity these days so you may have to sell the speakers separate from the turntable (just a suggestion).

Turntables sell for a little less, but still sell. I can't find a current sold listing for your particular model, but the Vintage Sylvania RS-5741 Stereo Receiver/Photograph just sold for $69.95 + shipping.

Selling on eBay is best if you are an experienced seller and have access to freight shipping. It is very hard to ship these safely when they are in working order--they often arrive jostled and no longer work, even with freight shipping (so just a word of caution--local pick up is probably your best bet if you want to try this venue).

If you are not an experienced seller, it is best to find a place in your town that specializes in vintage audio and have them sell if for you. Most big cities have at least one place like this. In Pittsburgh we have 3 places that will either buy outright or if you have more than one, shop around to see who will give you the best deal for it! You will get a percentage if doing consignment, but that is still the least hassle way to sell. You can expect to get 1/4 to 1/2 of retail if a place buys outright (so they can make money also).

I sold a Sylvania receiver 2 years ago BROKEN (sold for parts only) for $75 on eBay. Since it was already not working, I shipped it US Ground mail (this was before the new DIM mailing so it was cheap to ship). The person who got it was thrilled because he was going to cannibalize pieces from mine for his system. I was thrilled!!

I hope you have as much success with your pieces I did with mine and that the others have had with similar pieces.

You may be able to sell this at a yard sale or even on Craigslist for around $20. it is very old and outdated and people are looking for newer technology these days.
