Victorian Porcelain Lace Up Boot?

Victorian Porcelain Lace Up Boot - porcelain hightop shoe covered in lace and pearlsAnother fun find! This caught my eye. I am not sure of it's origination or value. Any help would be much appreciated! It is a Victorian porcelain boot with lace up boots, and pearls with emblems.

Unless you have identifying markings value will be hard to assess. I think this piece is pretty, but not valuable

What a neat find!

These were quite popular when Madonna was into this look--like mid 1980s. Most were handmade, some used a real boot, some used kits to make them. It is hard to tell which yours is because they all looked very similar. Usually if the bottom was "natural" it was a real boot and if the bottom was well finished it was a kit.

Some folks still make them, so there is an off chance you have a newer one. I am not good with shoe heel styles...that would probably give you the best way to date it. My memory of shoes I wore in the 1980s is gone.

There are a lot of Pinterest pages devoted to the look today. You can find them under many titles...like Lace Victorian Boot. There are even a few YouTube how to make them videos, which is fun!

I haven't seen any listed on eBay lately so I can't give you a current market value.

I know when they were popular, people would sell them for $50-$100 each. I am guessing that the current market value would be 1/2 to 1/4 of the retail prices so $20-$50, maybe a little less since the market for all things decorative is very soft right now.

The selling price may increase right before June and October for weddings and maybe May for Mother's Day. This time of year, nothing is selling, so if you are planning to sell, best to hit your peak selling opportunities.
