Viking Sewing Machine Stuck in Reverse

My Viking 6030 is stuck in reverse mode. I have removed the presser foot plate and cleaned, but it made no difference. What do I need to do? Does the machine need to be oiled? If so, how do I oil it? What kind of oil do I use? The manual gives no mention of oil.

To oil the machine you need special sewing machine oil, which you can get online or anywhere sewing supplies are sold. Take off the top and endcap of the machine. Move the wheel so you can see the parts moving. Where you see a screw or two parts together, put a drip of oil there. When you finish that, take the bottom piece off the machine to expose those parts, and do the same thing.
