What Breed Is Kiwi?

A small black and white dog asleep.Hello, this is Kiwi, a gorgeous little baby I received. I am hoping someone can tell me if she looks mixed and with what? Her body is black w/white on paws and tip on tail, as well as, some on her chest and collar. She's tiny, I mean she's a little longer than a plastic water bottle (16 oz). I am not sure of her weight. I'm seeking information so I can buy extra harnesses for the future.

I think your Kiwi is Teddy Roosevelt Terrier. She looks like this puppy doggiedesigner.com/.../Teddy-Roosevelt-Terrier-dog.jpg

She is adorable but 8 weeks old is probably too young to tell very much about her breeding and way too young to know what her size will be when she is a year old.

No ideas about her parents?
I'm sure you are taking her to your vet for her shots/vaccinations and they are usually the best person to ask about breed as they have a 'hands on' look/feel and generally have a lot of knowledge about different breeds.

I'm sure you know about DNA testing but maybe never wondered that much about your other pets but Kiwi may be different and since she is so small you might want to consider using a DNA kit.
These can be purchased online, pet stores and vets. Chewy and PetSmart are excellent places and both companies do a lot of free stuff for the animal world.

Maybe you could post back when she is older and we can make a better assessment. If you post back be sure to show pictures of Kiwi standing - show side so we can see full body including tail. Also full face and post weight, age and height/length so we'll be able to 'see' her clearly.

Enjoy your lovely family.
