What Breed Is My Dog?

A dog looking up at the camera.I have this pup who I truly adore regardless of what breed he is. Just curious as to what breed/mix anyone thinks he is, I'm leaning towards a Belgian or Ds / Labrador mix. He's super playful, and extremely smart. He's currently 2 months and 5 days.

I think this is an American Bernese (American Bulldog Bernese Mountain Dog Mix)

Do a DNA test to know exactly what breed.

I guess he's a shepherd mix.

Your pup is adorable. You would need to have a DNA test done to be sure of the exact breed of your pup. The tests run around $60 to $170 & some will inform you of potential health issues w/ your pup.

The snout and ears look like a German Shepard. You would have to have a DNA test performed on the dog to know the complete bloodline.

Beautiful puppy.
You may just like to know your pup's breeds but having a DNA test may be a good thing as he is going to be a big dog and sometimes larger breeds can have health problems that DNA test results can help you be forewarned and help you avoid problems.

DNA test kits can be purchased online, pet stores or from your vet.
Many pet owners feel they're worth the money/expense.
Here is a site that explains some benefits of DNA testing. It is an ad for Wisdom tests but still a good article.

The most important thing you can do for your puppy is to be sure he has all of his shots/vaccinations during this first year.

Everybody can make a guess and sometimes we get it right but check out this article about how to determine your pet's breed:

or maybe
Bernese Mountain Dog American Bulldog Mix (American Bernese)

But what size is your puppy now?

American Mountain Bulldog is a large to giant crossbreed. Its massive frame resembles that of a Bernese Mountain Dog's height with an American Bulldog's muscular physique.
Despite its powerful stature, the American Bernese is a tender and friendly dog that devotes their life to their human pack.

Of course, a DNA test will help give a definitive answer to your question.

You didn't mention his size. His feet don't look that large in the picture. I agree with Shepherd Mix if he's large puppy, but if he's mid-sized, he looks an awful lot like a Feist, a terrier breed. I've had lots of mixed breed and full breed rescues over the years.

There was no one breed or mix that made each one perfect. They were all special. Good luck with your puppy and the years of unconditional love he will give you.
