What kind of snake is this? I think black racer, but I just want to make sure. He's been in this spot for 3 days now and I have a toddler that can't play in the yard till he's gone.

It does look like a racer to me.
Looks like a racer, yes. Where are you located?
so it could be a black racer or a black rat snake - if it were a rat snake it would be slower and freeze when confronted, whereas the racer is much faster and will escape when confronted
