Valentine towel bibs can easily be made with just a couple of fabric items. You just take a simple tea towel or dish towel and fold over one end about 5 inches, cut a u-shape in the center and then add ribbing fabric to the neckline with a single machine straight stitch.

This is a way to recycle clear plastic packaging. I created a 3D "love" scene to fit under the plastic packaging. I glued it down on mat board, then embellished it with all sorts of odds and ends. I then created an easel on the back so it can be displayed for Valentine's Day.

VALENTINE'S ANGELS

Need old-fashioned clothespins, heart-shaped doilies, glue, markers, gold pipe cleaners, lace or fabric scraps

Using fabric or lace scraps, "dress" the clothespin angel. Use markers to make the face and a bit of gold pipe cleaner for the halo. Glue the lace doilies to the back of the clothespin to make wings. Add stick-on magnet to the back or hang from embroidery thread.

CARDBOARD FRAMES

Need sheets of cardboard, foam hearts, fake jewels, pink or red yarn

Cut cardboard ahead of time for kids so that they have a "picture" hole. Or use tongue depressors to make a frame. Let the kids wind the yarn over and around the cardboard, completely covering it. Tuck ends under. Glue foam hearts and fake jewels onto the yarn and let dry. Tape a picture to the back of the frame so that the face shines through!

Take two pieces of construction paper, maybe different colors, and draw a heart. {we used a scalloped pattern] cut out the two hearts and punch holes along the the edges about 1/2 in apart or so.

Then lace the two pices together, starting at one side of the top of the heart,go all around and meet at the top. Fill with candy hearts{or a love letter to mom and dad} and tie into a bow.

You will need 1 small doily, red ribbon and 2 candy canes. Take the 2 candy canes glue them together to form a heart and then glue the heart onto the doily an add the ribbon to the top as a bow.

Windsocks!! An easy, inexpensive fun way to celebrate Valentine's Day. I use construction paper and let the kids decorate any way they wish. Some use crayons and draw hearts or other pictures on it, or maybe stickers if you have them.

Then roll the paper into a cylinder. Attach red, pink and white paper streamers to the bottom (from a roll, usually about 3 rolls for a dollar) then use ribbon or string at the top to hang them.

Hi Sandy,
Get a blank canvas and have everyone draw a heart. You will be surprised at the amount of different hearts you will have on the canvas.

At the end of the evening, you will have a new painting to hang on the wall!
