For the ultimate frugal TV tray, I use cookie sheets! Just fold a dish towel in half to cover the cookie sheet (this keeps the plate from slipping also) then place on your plate, salad bowl, drink and utensils and head for the couch! They are large enough to hold the whole meal, easy to carry and fit on your lap perfectly! My husband loves this during football season! His exact words were, "awesome!"

Great Idea! A better idea, however, would be for your husband to bring food to you in the living room.
