Chocolate Brownie Cookies

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup shortening
  • 1 1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 1 Tbsp. water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/3 cup baking cocoa
  • Ad

  • 1/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Directions

Heat oven to 375 degrees F. Combine shortening, brown sugar, water, and vanilla in bowl. Beat a medium speed. Beat eggs into creamed mixture at low speed. Gradually add dry ingredients and then stir in chocolate chips. Drop by rounded spoonfuls on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 7-9 minutes. Cookies will appear soft and moist. Do not overbake! After removing from oven, let set on cookie sheet for 2 minutes before transferring to paper towel and let cool completely before putting in container with lid.
