Dallas (Pomeranian)

Bronze Post Medal for All Time! 216 Posts

Dallas is a 6 year old Pomeranian. After months of looking on our local Craig's List, we took a look at pets in another part of Ohio. Dallas was offered there. His owners had come to the decision that he deserved more time than they were able to give him. They said they had thought about it a long time and think they offered him just then because he was meant to come here to us. Black Pomeranian on Blue Rug

My friend and I share a house, and are both retired, so we have plenty of time to give a super little guy like Dallas. He is our first lap dog, and we loved him from day one. We haven't learned how to get Dallas to play yet. He doesn't seem to care for toys, going outside, or do any doggy things. As you can see by his pictures, he does like climbing the furniture (maybe he's part mountain goat!), and he can fall asleep just about anywhere. But we will find out what pleases him.

Well, we know he loves to be petted and cuddled. Today we found out he likes going for a ride. Later this week, it's the Dog Festival. We think he'll love that. Dallas knows when he wants to go to bed. He goes to my room, then comes back and looks at me as though to say "Excuse me, but don't you think it's getting awfully late?" When I finally go to bed, he has time for one short cuddle, then takes himself to the foot of the bed and won't budge from there until morning.

He is a very loving and sweet little dog. I am so grateful we happened to look on Craig's list when and where we did, and brought this little guy into our lives.

What a precious little fellow! Maybe he doesn't know how to play, but he might like to share his bed space with a stuffed animal of some kind. If he was kept in a crate for long periods and not given the attention when he was a baby, then that would account for his not knowing how to play.

If I were to be getting a dog today, in my limited physical condition, I would want a little companion just like him. You hit the jack-pot in more ways than one, I think.

He's really perfect for you, and probably was meant to be your fur-baby all along. How great that you are finally together. We're happy for you and thank you so much for sharing him, his story and the adorable photos with us. He looks like the perfect little cuddlebug.

I hope you have many happy years together my friend and keep us posted on his progress. (Cute name too).

Having mostly lap dogs most of my life I believe you'll both fit like a glove.
He's got a very happy face and is beautiful.I'm certain he's right where he was intended to be. He might not know how to play or even want to but for now your each learning new things every day.

The little sweetie is already starting to be more playful! I think he is getting used to it here, and realizing that this is his forever home, and that it's pretty sweet here. His Mommy loved him a lot, but with two little children in the house, didn't have the time for him that he deserves. It was really courageous and so loving of her to give him up for his sack. I can't even describe how much I love him, and how grateful I am to that wonderful lady. Dallas sends her emails and pics to show her that she is ok, and that he will always love her.

What a darling little smile Dallas has! Some dogs, from observations of my own furbabies, have a sense of dignity, and they don't like to play in normal type ways, but they are so affectonate. I am so impressed that Dallas likes to ride. One of my dogs likes to ride, the rest tolerate it, only.

I have a little darling lap dog, larger than she was supposed to be, the vet put her on a kind of a diet, but she is part Weenie Dog and part Chihuahua. My mom was told she was a full blooded chihuahua. But she is not, we found out she is part mountain fiest, part chihuahua, and part weenie dog and others as well. She is so precious, and she, too, does the foot ofthe bed thing every night. There is something special about a dog so loyal and loving and sweet. We are both lucky! Give Dallas a hug! Here is Banjo, the chihuahua mix that sleeps at my feet every night too. :)
Blessings,
Robyn

Dallas is really an adorable little fur-baby, and I also believe in things happening as they should. You were supposed to have him all along, but it just took the gods a while to put everything together for it to happen.

Your new baby looks like he's always been there with you as he appears to be very comfortable anywhere near to you. Sleeping at your feet to guard you in the night is a good sign he is yours by his own choice. Some dogs like to be in what they feel to be the nest, while others will always prefer to sleep in a separate bedding area. He not only guards you but feels safe with you. He is a handsome little dog.

He looks like just a puppy more than a 6 year old doggie. He is such a pretty little furry cuddler. I'd want to sit and hold him all the time, I'm afraid, and I'd never get any work done. Six years is a long time to go without enough attention. No wonder he doesn't know how to play. He'll
learn your family's ways soon, and you might see a big change in him.

I wish you all the best of luck and lots of good years. ww

It's very thoughtful of you to think of the people who you were able to get your puppy from. He was meant for your family though, so rest assured that he is probably very happy and secure with you. He is a darling little bundle of puppy-joy. Thanks for sharing him and his story.
