Lime Or Ashes For Moss

Spread some lime over the area to get rid of the moss, or a cheaper method if you have a fireplace is to lightly spread some of the ashes over the area. If you wet it down, it sort of makes the gray disappear, but it gets rid of the moss.

You are right, Mary. Moss is often a sign of nutrient poor soil. Adding some lawn fertilizer to the lime will make it work even better.

Lime is a dangerous product to use. It is highly caustic if inhaled and can cause respiratory irritation.
