Not being able to eat chocolate, I was thrilled to find this replacement!
Bring 1 cup butter and water to boil, remove from heat. Mix flour, sugar, eggs and sour cream with the butter and water. Add almond flavoring, salt and soda and mix. Pour in greased and floured 15x10x1 inch pan. Bake at 375 degrees F for 20 minutes. Cool 20 minutes then frost.
Bring to boil the butter and milk. Remove from heat. Can be heated in glass mixing bowl in microwave. Add almond flavoring, chopped nuts and powdered sugar. Mix thoroughly and spread over cake.
