Garden: Harriet (Buff Orphinton) and the Seedlings

Harriet is a Buff Orpington and the smallest of the chicks we got this spring. This picture was taken the day after she came to live with us. She's standing in front of the seedling starts. Baby plants and baby chickens. The house is alive with life!

Baby chicks are so precious. Then they go through teenage, and look kinda rough around the edges. Soon, though, they turn into beautiful hens or handsome roosters, and if you've hand-raised them, they are just as nice a pet as any dog or cat. All my pet chickens were fantastic. I've raised 8 now, all great experiences. They live a long time too.
