Use Cigarette Papers Instead of Expensive Facial Oil Blotters

Unfortunately, at the age of 24, I still struggle with breakout-prone, oily skin in the "T-zone." I have always really liked using those blue Clean and Clear oil blotting sheets during the day to remove excess oil from my face without piling on more makeup. However, those sheets are really expensive, up to $6 for a pack of 50!

A great, cheap alternative is Top cigarette papers. They are sold at most gas stations and grocery stores and are meant to be used for hand-rolled cigarettes, but they blot oil just as well as the expensive Clean and Clear plastic sheets! They come in a pack of 100 for approximately 69 cents.

Note, you may get ID'ed when you buy these. If you are under 18, they probably will not sell them to you (even though you have absolutely no intention of using them to roll tobacco!)

Source: Not my original idea...can't remember the original source.

Very cool tip! Get used to the oil: I'm 41 and have had a hysterectomy, and I still get "oiled up" by mid-afternoon. Maybe we should both be grateful.

But hey, maybe I won't get carded when I buy cigarette papers.

Just a quick thought. Even though we are destined to be the skin type that we were born with, there are things that we do to affect it's current condition. Make sure that you are not drying your skin out too much with cleanser, exfolliants, etc which will cause your system to actually produce more sebum (oil). We all tend to walk a fine line when it comes to this. Even though you think you are oily, you still want to protect your skin from pollutants, etc so be sure to use a water based moisturizer with spf everyday to prevent that dry/oil issue. The cigarette papers used for a blotter is an awesome idea though!

If you are not 18 and you can't buy rolling papers you can also use toilet seat covers from a public restroom. It is the same material as the expensive pads you buy in a store. you can cut one up and keep some in your purse.

I saw it on TV a while ago on the Tyra Banks Show.

I used to have oily skin & used facial blotters for years during the day in addition to my AM/PM skin cleansing regimen - They are really great. (& P.S. as you age, the oiliness will abate, and your skin will be in great condition - not overy dry.)

Nice tip, I'm going to try this. Does anyone know if there's anything harmful to the skin in cigarette papers?
