With wooden spoon, mix water and yeast. Add salt and oil, then 1 cup flour. Mix until smooth. Mix the rest of the flour into the dough, using your hands to work it in if necessary. Dough should be firm, not sticky. Cover with towel and set in warm place for at least 1/2 hour. Prepare toppings with while dough is resting.
