Cherry Bread

I like this bread because I use cherries in it, and they are one of my favorite fruits. I also like this recipe because it is my very own creation.


  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1/2 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 3/4 cup cherries

  • 1/4 cup cooking oil
  • 1 1/2 tsp. finely shredded orange peel


Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.

In a bowl, combine flour, cinnamon, baking soda, and nutmeg.

In another bowl, stir together eggs, sugar, berries, oil, and orange peel. Add to flour mixture stirring just till combined.

Pour into a greased 9x5x3 inch bread pan and bake in a 350 degree F oven for 60 to 70 minutes. Cool 10 minutes, then remove from pan and cool on a rack. Wrap and store overnight.

I am wondering the same. Do you use canned, fresh, frozen? Cherries are one of my faves also.
