Things You Should (And Can) Get For Free

Free Checking: Many banks offer free checking and most with no required minimum balance. All you have to do is ask.

Free Annual Credit Reports:

Free Cash: There's no nearby ATM near you to use for a no fee cash withdrawal? Most grocery, pharmacies, and stores like Target or Wal-Mart have debit payment machines where (depending on the store) you can opt for up to $100.00 cash back at no charge, using your debit card options. All you need to do is purchase one small item like a soda or gum. It's far better to make a small purchase of something you can use than to give the money away.

Free Information Calls: Why pay your telephone provider money for a phone number? Dial 800-GOOG-411 instead.

Free Local Entertainment: Libraries have books and movies to borrow, and many city parks even offer concerts. Just check out your city's website, and join your local library and parks e-mail lists to see what's up.

Free TV: Browse Hulu for free television shows and movies including many current ones.

All our supermarkets give 'cashback' when paying at the till with a debit card. It doesn't matter how small the purchase and costs nothing. This is so handy as I hate using ATMs in case they've been tampered with.
