The tennis balls do help but they also break thinks off in the dryer. My dryer has medal looking things going down the center several times. It knocked it off. I heard it and found several screws. It was connected and put back with screws. So now I put my tennis balls inside a thick sock and tie it in a knot. It helps with the banging around in the tub.
