When my grandfather passed away we had a gathering at our home. I was short on table space so I covered my ironing board with a pretty bed sheet and used it for the beverages.
When my husband was bed-bound, we used a table top ironing board as a bed tray. It worked great!
You can also use an ironing board as a surf board or snow sled (especially for 3 or 4 small kids).
