Ginger Buns

These are yummy and sweet. Love the cinnamon and ginger in them.

Ingredients:

  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup shortening or butter
  • 1/4 cup molasses, scant
  • 3/4 cup boiling water plus not quite 1 tsp. baking soda
  • 1 1/2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 1/4 tsp. ginger
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. cloves
  • Ad

  • 1/4 tsp. nutmeg
  • 2-3 eggs, well beaten

Directions:

Cream sugar and butter. Add molasses and eggs. Sift flour, salt, and spices. Add to creamed mixture. Then beat in the boiling water and baking soda. Water must be boiling. Grease muffin tins well or use wax paper cups. Bake at 400 degrees F for 15 minutes.

Cooking Time: 15 Minutes
