Peanut Butter Kisses Cookies

Ingredients

  • 1 cup shortening
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 1 cup white sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • Ad

  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 3/4 tsp. baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • Chocolate kisses

Directions

Cream together shortening, peanut butter and sugars. Beat eggs and add to first mixture. Add vanilla, then flour, salt, baking soda and baking powder. Roll in 1 inch balls, then roll in sugar (don't flatten). Put on ungreased baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees F for 10 minutes. Remove from oven and press a chocolate kiss into the middle of each cookie.

Just a suggestion, I use chocolate stars instead of kisses. No agravating unwrapping. Basicall the same effect with out all the bother.

Oh, but Kisses taste so much better. I find that stars have almost a waxy taste, blech.

Either way, it's too much sugar for me, so the stars works for you, good for you!!! I like thinking outside the box!
