I have a Weedeater brand lawn mower with a 18.5hp Briggs and Stratton motor. I noticed the starter gear was stripped horribly so I replaced it. It isn't turning the gear for the starter. I also noticed a little wear on the shaft of the starter. Is it possible to put the gear on backwards or maybe is the shaft bad.
