Value of Encyclopedia Britannica?

I have the 1768 Encyclopedia Britannica - A New Survey of Universal Knowledge, volumes 1-24. I also have the books of the year 1954-1982. Are these worth anything?

Are you certain your 1768 is the original? See this Wikipedia site comment:

"On the occasion of its 200th anniversary (1968), Encyclopædia Britannica Inc. published a facsimile of the 1st edition, even including "age spots" on the paper. This has been periodically reprinted and is still part of Britannica's product line."

The Britannica, the oldest continuously published encyclopedia in the English language, has become a luxury item with a $1,395 price tag. It is frequently bought by embassies, libraries and research institutions, and by well-educated, upscale consumers who felt an attachment to the set of bound volumes. Only 8,000 sets of the 2010 edition have been sold, and the remaining 4,000 have been stored in a warehouse until they are bought.

You can check book selling and buying websites, ancient book collectors, Craigslist for possible comparisons.
