I don't think you have to remove the nail polish remover, if it is what I am thinking it is. What will have happened is that the nail polish remover will have removed the finish on the table. Without knowing what it is was finished with, it is difficult to know what you need to do to repair the spot.

I was doing my nails at the dining room table, I will not do that again. The bottle of nail polish remover spilled and ate a place about 5 by 5 inches of the stain off of my table.
