I have very dry skin and have bought so many different brands of lotion (some pretty pricey.) This seems to work better than any of them. Enjoy!

Ingredients

(All these ingredients are Dollar General brand)

  • 1 petroleum jelly
  • 1 aloe vera lotion (green bottle)
  • 2 pink baby lotions
  • 2 vitamin E creams

Mix with mixer

You can repack in the jars you emptied or buy new ones if you can find them.

I would like to make the dollar general hand lotion and was wondering if you found out the size bottles of the ingredients. Thanks for your help.

You can get cute little heart shaped jars with cork stopper at Michael's. Tie a little ribbon around the neck of bottle and makes a very nice gift. Attach recipe for lotion to ribbon.

A friend of mine gave me some of this. I like it, except, anything with a scent sends my allergies sky high. I was pleased that it didn't turn rancid. Can you get this stuff unscented?

I tried this for a pajama party featuring homemade spa treatments. We all agreed it was wonderful!

I use a simular recipe. 1 bottle of baby lotion and 1 bottle of lotion containing vitamin E and 1 small container of vaseline and a couple of drops of peppermint oils. Mix ingredients together and store in jars or in my case a small bucket with a lid. Works great for rough hands.

I believe that Joyce is referring to the sizes that you can buy at Dollar General dollar stores. They probably only sell one size at that particular dollar store chain. Maybe Joyce has the bottles handy and can tell us how many ounces each bottle is?
