Tuna Salad with a Twist
The peperoncini and tomato take the boring out of tuna salad ;-)
- 2 (5 oz.) cans tuna, drained
- 1 small tomato, seeded and diced
- 1 large celery rib, chopped
- 2 Tbsp. red onion, finely chopped
- 2 Tbsp. peperoncini, finely chopped
- Mayonnaise, to taste
Mix well and serve on a bed of lettuce or as a sandwich filling.

Hi Laniegirl. They are Tuscan pickled peppers. They are very mildly hot and come in a jar in the pickle section. My favorite brand is Mezzetta Imported Greek Golden Peperoncini. I often add two or three or four (whole, stem removed) to vinaigrette dressed salads for a spicy punch or eat with assorted cheese as a snack. I'll send some other recipes I use them in to you if you're interested. :-)
