24 Hour Pea Salad

I love the water chestnuts in this.

Ingredients:

  • 1 layer torn or shredded lettuce
  • 1 layer thin sliced celery
  • 1 layer cut up green pepper
  • Ad
  • green onion, to taste
  • 1 pkg. frozen green peas, unthawed
  • 1 can water chestnuts, sliced
  • bacon bits

Dressing:

  • 2 cups mayonnaise
  • 3 Tbsp. sugar

Directions:

Layer all ingredients (except bacon bits) in order given in salad bowl. Mix dressing ingredients, and spread over the vegetables sealing to the edge. Sprinkle entire top with Parmesan cheese and cover tightly with plastic wrap and also foil. Refrigerate 24 hours. Toss just before serving and add bacon bits on top.
