Rye Bread

Ingredients:
  • 3 1/2 cups white flour
  • 1 1/2 cups rye meal
  • 2 pkgs. dry yeast
  • 2 cups warm water
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 tsp. sugar

Directions:

Dissolve sugar and yeast in water. Add flour, meal and salt. Mix well. spoon into greased, long loaf pan. Let raise until higher than edge of pan. Bake 1 hour at 375 degrees. Remove from pan and brush with butter on all sides. Cool and store in plastic wrap in refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Adding a little garlic powder and dill weed improves the flavor.
