Fancy Rolls

  • 2 pkg. yeast
  • 1/2 cup tepid water
  • 1 cup milk, scalded and cooled
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • 4 cup flour
  • 1 stick margarine

Remove milk from stove. Add salt, sugar and margarine and cool. Then add 2 beaten eggs and yeast, which has been dissolved in the warm water. Stir in flour to a fairly stiff dough. Knead in rest of flour, adding more if needed, without being sticky. Let rise to double in bulk (1 hour).

Knead and shape into rolls (pinch off in ball). Dip or brush melted butter over rolls and let rise again (1 hour). Bake in 375 degree F oven until lightly brown, about 20 minutes. Makes 32 rolls.
