Chocolate Twinkie Cake

Ingredients:

Cake:

  • 1 1/2 cups sugar
  • 1/2 cup cocoa
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 2 eggs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 tsp. soda
  • 2 cups flour
  • 1/2 tsp. salt
  • Ad
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 1 tsp. vanilla

Filling:

  • 1 cup milk
  • 5 Tbsp. flour
  • 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
  • 1/2 cup shortening
  • 1 cup sugar

Directions:

Cake: Cream sugar and cocoa and then shortening, then the eggs and milk. Add the flour, soda and salt. Put in boiling water last. Beat well. Bake at 350 degrees F for 40 minutes. Cool cake and split.

Filling: Cook flour and milk until thick. Let cool. Add remaining ingredients. Beat and spread between cooled cake pieces.
