Thaw and Brown A Week's Worth of Ground Beef

Depending on the size of your family, thaw and brown a number of pounds of ground meat on a set day every week. It will stay good in your refrigerator and will make easy meals whenever you use it.

I mix it with pasta and different sauces and use it to make tacos or sloppy Joes, and quick chili. The possibilities are endless, and you will always be ready for last minute company.

I do this whenever I buy hamburger. I divide some of it up into meal size portions, uncooked, for when I want just plain hamburger patties and then some of it I crumble up and brown and divide it up into meal size portions for use in sloppy joes, goulash, stew, or whatever and freeze it in baggies. I do this on a monthly basis instead of weekly.

If my burger is to be crumbled, I boil it. You drain off most of the fat that way. Rinsed like pasta, you can let it cool and bag/mark it for the freezer.

Then you don't have the bulk of the sauces in the freezer, too.
