You can scrape things w/ one of the small rectangular plastic tabs that are used to close bags of bread or other foods. They're small & have some flexibility which is often useful. They're disposable b/c you always seem to get more. We store some in a kitchen drawer in a small pill bottle. You can store 'twisty ties' the same way. This storage method keeps us from accumulating too many.
