Company Cornbread

Instructions

  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup cornmeal
  • 2 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp. salt
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2-2/3 cup sugar
  • 1/4 cup melted butter
  • 1 tsp. vanilla
  • 3/4 cup milk

Directions

Sift together flour, cornmeal, baking powder and salt. Set aside and combine egg, sugar, butter, vanilla and milk in mixing bowl. Add the sifted ingredients to the egg mixture and stir until smooth. Pour into a greased 9x9 inch baking pan. Bake at 475 degrees F until brown, about 15 minutes.
