Applesauce Pork Chops

Ingredients

  • 8 pork chops
  • salt and pepper
  • 2 apples, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 2 cups applesauce
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1/4 tsp. fat
  • 3 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 Tbsp. lemon juice
  • 1/4 tsp. cinnamon
  • 1/4 tsp. allspice

Directions

Sprinkle chops with salt and pepper. Quickly brown chops in fat. Line 3 qt. greased casserole dish with layer of apple and onion slices. Arrange chops on top. Blend flour with pan juices in the skillet and add water. Cook and stir until thickened. Add lemon juice, applesauce, and spices. Pour over chops. Cover and bake for 1 hour at 350 degrees F. Remove cover and bake 30 minutes more.
