I have also been searching for anyone who has heard of this book for I once had a copy when I was a child.
I have this book: Fifty Favorite Fairy Tales, illustrated by Robert J. Lee, hardcover no dust wrapper, Library of Congress Catalog Number 65-11917, printed in the USA by Western printing and Lithographing Company, Golden Press New York, copyright 1965, very small amount of child's writing inside and does not harm the book. If anyone is interested let me know. Thanks! Overlookedbook AT aol.com

I remember the book had a brown hardcover with I think, orange lettering. I don't remember it having a "Genie" on it. And Yes, I'm still looking for it.If anyone has one in good condition they want to sell, please send me an email. Thank you. GG Vi
I got this book from a man at church but it does not say when the copyright date was but it does have a genie on the front cover.
I was about to put this book up - copywrite 1946 hardcover on Ebay. Saw your post in the Google search. Its been a year but I have it. If you are still looking for it let me know it was in storage.
I have one, It's my favority book, it's threatening to fall apart. Illustrations were by Robert J Lee? Picture of a Genie on the front throwing jewels from a basket?
I made a point of buying that same book years ago for my children. I had it as a kid and it was great!
How very nice of all of you to help me in the search of "Fifty Famous Fairy Tails." You have opened a whole new world for me. Thanks so much. I have found a copy on Ebay and am waiting for a conformation on another site. I'll keep you posted. Great granny Hugs to all of you. Vi
There's a website called "abebooks.com". I was able to replace every book I've ever lost for just a few dollars (sometimes the postage was more than the book!). They even found MY favorite book as a child in the first edition copy ($600). I hope they can find yours!
I searched Worldcat and found one library that has what i believe to be the book you are looking for. it is in the Cleveland Public Library, Cleveland, Ohio.
That was the only library listed with a copyright in the 1940's. Your library could probably order it for you through interlibrary loan.
