Saute the onion in the melted butter or margarine until tender, but not brown. Remove the onions. Combine the corn muffin mix, egg, milk and corn to make a soft batter. Place in greased 9 inch square baking pan. Top with the onions and then drop the sour cream over the top. Lastly, sprinkle with the grated cheese. Bake about 30 minutes, or until golden brown, at temperature given on back of corn muffin package.
