What kind of vinegar, and does it work?

In browsing thru several other articles and comments online regarding homemade treatments for humidifiers, I came across ONLY ONE WITH A WARNING NOT TO MIX VINEGAR WITH BLEACH because it will emit TOXIC FUMES. Surely, this information if accurate, IS EXTREMELY IMPORTANT and should be REPEATED HERE!! Several comments made by people reviewing brand name prepared chemical products sold by vendors on Amazon and by Walmart, etc.state that they have been so concerned by warnings on the product label that they will not use it.

Heinz and Walmart make a "cleaning" vinegar that is 6%. Located on the bottom shelf in the cleaning section where you buy Pine Sol etc. It might be the location in the store that confuses most. In my local walmart it is on the same side as the brooms and on the bottom shelf.

Can you run the humi!ifer with vinegar in it.
