Adjusting the Clutch on A Sewing Machine?

I have a wonderful Kenmore 10 Stitch sewing machine. The belt is fine. Can I adjust the clutch?

I found a post about belt and clutch of Kenmore 10 stitch sewing machine, with photos

Kenmores have a two pulley system to make them stronger. To adjust the lower belt, one must loosen the motor mount and turn the pulley screws to the right. There is only one belt attached.
Do not lift out the clutch, because then the springs spit out the ball bearings.

I thank you tremendously. I appear to be running into the same drawback: Every 10 Stitch shown has the side stitch gauge. The one I have is exactly like my 8 Stitch, with the front mount stitch length knob. The one's in the video all have a two belt system, if I understand correctly, to get around the side stitch length knob.

I think that I am going to open it back up. Maybe I should look at this question with the 8 Stitch model. Stranger things have happened. Any suggestions are definitely welcome

It is not always easy to read and follow written instructions as you can miss a step and not realize it and then you're more or less lost.

I have several machines and I would be lost without being able to ask questions from a 'real person' so I belong to sewing forums and receive quick reliable help.

You may just need this answer right now but you may also need help in the future.

Be sure to clean & oil your machine first. Here's a video that may help if the clutch still doesn't work correctly:
