Apple Pumpkin Butter in jar


  • 1 (29 oz.) can solid pumpkin,
  • 2 cups unsweetened apple juice
  • 1 cup unsweetened apple sauce
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tsp. cinnamon
  • Advertisement

  • 1/2 tsp. ginger
  • 1/8 tsp. cloves


In sauce pan, mix ingredients. Simmer uncovered 1-1.5 hours till thick as pudding. Pour into sterile jars and seal. Water bath for 10 minutes at 160 degrees F.

Source: I don't remember, it was in my recipe box for years. I do know it makes a wonderful gift!

How long would something like this stay good in the jar?

This sound really good. I might like to make for presents. It would be really cute with a square of fabric tied around the lid with raffia.

If it has a vacuum tight seal, it should have about a 2-year shelf life.

If someone gave me a gift like this from the heart, it sure wouldn't last that long in my refrigerator.
