My husband has became bedridden and always hurting himself on bed railing. I picked up some swimming noddles and cut them the long way and wraped the top rail. Pipe insulation is out of season so I went with swimming noodles. Just cut the noodle long ways and wrap around rail. Secure with ribbon or string.

You could also use pipe insulation it's already cut down the middle but is only made in black. But it at Home Depot. You've got a great idea here - good for you!

Great idea! I just recently bought pipe insulation to replace the foam padding on my walker's backrest which is black, but your idea would have given me color options too!

Thanks, Marcy
