This is a computerized machine and will have to be fixed according to instructions from Butterick and reboot instructions does not appear to be in their manual.
Is your machine new?
Is it still in warranty?
If it is then you should contact whoever you purchased it from and file for repair/replacement/refund as it appears this is characteristic of some series of this particular model and cannot be fixed.
There are a lot of complaints about this problem but it appears it was from a particular shipment of machines (only they do not give serial numbers affected and no recall shown).

If you have had it a long time with no problems then you need to contact Butterick with your question because there is no link to how to reboot/reset this machine.

The newer machines are run by a motherboard and considered digital or computerized. It sounds like there is a short in the motherboard, the program of the machine is stuck in a single mode, or there is a reset problem with this machine.

Check the manual on how to reset the machine, if you can't find this you'll need to call the company and have them walk you through this one.

Your machine could have strings dust and fabric buildup to do this. Often these things get trapped inside and makes your machine malfunction. Try cleaning and removal of debris then start over!
