Cat Missing Hair Near Wound on Neck?

I have 2 cats, one of them has a small patch of hair missing on her neck with very little dry blood around it. There was a smalll scab/bump there the day before. Is this a scab my cat broke open? Or is it more serious? She has no other change in behavior.

She probably scratched it off. Take her to the vet if it swells up, gets bigger, the whole area gets red, or more hair starts coming out.

It sounds like it may be an abcess. A puncture wound closes over and pus accumulates under the scab. The infection under the scab often causes a patch of hair directly over it to fall out. As the abcess grows it may become a noticable bump.

If the scab comes off or is scratched off the abcess may drain. It is best to have the Vet look at it. It may spread under the skin and cause a serious infection for your cat. It is easy to treat and not expensive if caught early on.
