Clothing Dye Transferred in the Dryer?

It was early in the morning with jeans I'd washed a hundred times, so I didn't think they would bleed! The sweater was in with the load prior and wasn't dry so I left it in and added 1 pair of jeans to dry and an orange sweater (why didn't that bleed?). The cream sweater turned into a cream and blue hued sweater. My mom is sooo angry! The sweater was brand new. Please help! Like I said, it was dried in the dryer.
